RBPF Nassau: Investigates armed robbery - Police recovered dangerous drugs

POLICE INVESTIGATES ARMED ROBBERY

Police on the island of New Providence are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating four male suspects believed to be responsible for an Armed Robbery which occurred on Monday 23rd June, 2020.

In the first incident, according to reports, shortly after 11:00pm, a female while on Domingo Drive was accosted by two men clad in hoodies, one of whom was armed with a silver handgun and robbed her of a cell phone. The suspects made good their escape on a bicycle. Investigation into this matter continues.  

In the second incident, according to reports, shortly after 9:00pm, a male while riding on Shenile Avenue was accosted by two males, one of whom was armed with a silver and black handgun and robbed him of cash. The suspects made good their escape. Investigation into this matter continues.  

Police are appealing to members of the public, who may have information that can assist with our investigations into these incident and other criminal matters, to contact the Criminal Investigation Department at 502-9991/2, Crime stoppers at 38-TIPS (8477) or the nearest police station

POLICE RECOVERED DANGEROUS DRUGS

The efforts of the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Police Force resulted in the removal of dangerous drugs from the Street of New Providence on Monday 22nd June, 2020.

According to reports, shortly after 6:00am, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit acting on information went to the Bahamas Department of Corrections, where they conducted a search a vehicle which belonged to a Prison Officer. The officers recovered a quantity of suspected marijuana.  A further search of the officer’s residence was conducted where an additional quantity of suspected marijuana was recovered. The officer was arrested and taken into custody.
