RBPF Nassau: Police recovered illegal firearm - Recovered dangerous drugs - Arrest a suspect for murder

POLICE RECOVERED ILLEGAL FIREARM


Nassau, Bahamas - The efforts of the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Police Force resulted in the removal of an illegal firearm from the Streets of New Providence on Tuesday 23rd July 2020.

According to reports, shortly before 11:00am, officers from the Operations Unit acting on information proceeded to Fleming Street, on their arrival they conducted a search of an abandon building and recovered a black Sig Sauer pistol with 2 unfired rounds of ammunition. No arrest was made in connection with this incident.

POLICE RECOVERED DANGEROUS DRUGS – 2 MALES ARRESTED

The efforts of the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Police Force resulted in the removal of dangerous drugs from the Streets of New Providence on Tuesday 23rd July 2020.

In the first incident, according to reports, shortly before 3:00pm, officers from the Operations Unit and the K9 Unit armed with a search warrant went to a residence on West End Avenue, while there they conducted a search and recovered a quantity of suspected marijuana and cocaine. Two males were arrested in connection with this incident.

In the second incident, according to reports, shortly after 5:00, officers from the Operations Unit while on mobile patrol on Black Sun Avenue observed a male who aroused their suspicion. The officers conducted a search of the suspect and recovered a quantity of suspected marijuana. He was arrested and taken into custody.

POLICE ARREST A SUSPECT FOR MURDER

The diligent efforts of the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Police Force resulted in the arrest of a male wanted for Murder on Tuesday 23rd July 2020.

According to reports, shortly before 3:00pm, officers from the Southern Division acting on information proceeded to Fire Trail and Gladstone Road where they arrested a male suspect for Murder in connection with an incident that occurred in 2019. Investigation into this matter continues.
