RBPF Nassau: Police seek public’s help in solving armed robberies - 57 drivers ticketed

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN SOLVING ARMED ROBBERIES

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are asking members of the public to come forth with any information they may have in solving two armed robberies, which occurred Monday, 23rd April, 2018.

In the first incident, according to reports, shortly before 1:00am, a man was driving on Marrow Lane, Garden Hills, when he was stopped by two men on foot, armed with firearms, who robbed him of cash and a cell phone before running away.  

In the second incident, according to reports, around 2:00am, a man was standing outside a bar on Watlins Street, when he was approached by two men, one armed with a firearm, who robbed him of cash, before getting into his gray 2004 Ford Focus vehicle and speeding off. 

Investigations into these matters are ongoing.

57 DRIVERS TICKETED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS IN PAST 48 HOURS  

Officers from the Mobile Divisions conducted road checks in various parts of the island. Their efforts, which were intended to educate, reduce crime, and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activity, resulted in the arrest of 15 person for outstanding criminal warrants, possession of dangerous drugs and breach of a monitoring device, over the past 48 hours. 
 
Additionally, 57 drivers were ticketed for various traffic violations.

PREVENTION CRIME TIP: TAKE A STAND AGAINST ILLEGAL FIREARMS BY COOPERATING WITH THE POLICE IN PROVIDING INFORMATION REGARDING THE WHEREABOUTS OF ANY ILLEGAL FIREARM.
