RBPF Nassau: Woman robbed at home in South Beach - One other robbery and two shootings

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN SOLVING ARMED ROBBERY

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are asking members of the public, to come forth with any information they may have in solving two armed robberies, which occurred overnight.

In the first incident, according to reports, shortly after 10:00pm on Friday, 8th June, 2018 a male was walking on Marathon Road, when a dark colour vehicle pulled up beside him. A passenger of this vehicle produced a firearm and robbed him of his wallet containing cash and other items before the vehicle sped off.

In the second incident, a female had just arrived at a home on Holiday Drive, South Beach, shortly after 1:00am on Saturday, 9th June, 2018, when she was approached by two armed men who robbed her of her handbag containing cash and other items, before getting into a burgundy car and speeding away.

Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE INVESTIGATES SHOOTING INCIDENT

Police are investigating a shooting incident, Friday, 9th June, 2018 which has left an adult male with injuries.

According to reports, shortly after 11:00pm, a male was at his home on Joe Farrington Road, when he was approached by a man armed with a firearm who demanded cash. The gunman was unsuccessful in obtaining his demand; however, he shot the male before running away. The victim was transported to hospital where he is listed in serious but stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE INVESTIGATES TRAFFIC FATALITY

Police are investigating a traffic accident which has left an adult male dead.
According to reports shortly after 2:00am, Saturday, 9th June, 2018, a man was attempting to walk across the southern lane of Tonique Williams Darling Highway, in the area of a local bar, when he was struck by an Acura TSX car and a Dodge Truck.  Paramedic were called to the scene and transported the victim to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Both drivers remained on the scene and are assisting police with the investigation.

Investigations are being continued by officers of the Traffic Division of the RBPF.
