RBPF Nassau: Police seek public’s help in solving country’s latest homicide - Illegal ammunition and dangerous drugs recovered

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN SOLVING COUNTRY’S LATEST HOMICIDE

Nassau, Bahamas - Police on the Island of New Providence are investigating a shooting incident Saturday, 9th June, 2018, which left an adult male dead. 

Shortly before 10:00pm, police responded to Refuge Court, Hollywood Subdivision, off Cowpen Road, after receiving information that a man had been shot. Further information revealed that a man had just arrived at home with his children, when a Japanese vehicle pulled up behind him. A male armed with a firearm, approached him and demanded cash. The gunman searched his pockets, then shot him before getting back into the vehicle and speeding away. Paramedics were called to the scene and made attempts to revive the injured man, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigations are ongoing.

ILLEGAL AMMUNITION AND DANGEROUS DRUGS RECOVERED

The enduring and dedicated work of the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Police Force has led to a quantity of ammunition and dangerous drugs being recovered from the streets of New Providence, Saturday, 9th June, 2018.

Shortly after 6pm on Saturday, 9th June, 2018, Drug Enforcement Officers acting on information, conducted a search of a bushy area at Seaview Close off Baillou Hill Road, and recovered 50 rounds of 9 millimeter ammunition and a small quantity of marijuana.

No arrest was made in this matter.  Investigations are ongoing.
