POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN SOLVING COUNTRY’S LATEST HOMICIDE. 

Police on the Island of New Providence are investigating a shooting incident, which left an adult male dead and another male with serious injuries.

According to reports, shortly before 6:00pm, Friday, 27th July, 2018 three men were sitting in a vehicle on Carmichael Road in the vicinity of Bacardi Road, when they were approached by an armed man who shot two of them before making good his escape. The men were able to drive to the Flamingo Gardens Clinic, where one of them was later pronounced dead. The second injured man was transported to hospital in serious condition. The third male was not injured.
Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE INVESTIGATES STABBING INCIDENT

Police on the island of New Providence are investigating a stabbing incident which left an adult male with injuries, Friday, 27th July, 2018.

According to reports, shortly after 7:00pm, two men were driving along Boyd Road, when they began to argue. The driver of the vehicle, struck the passenger to his head with a bottle and stabbed him about the body before crashing into another vehicle. The victim was transported to hospital by ambulance and is listed in serious condition. The suspect was taken into custody and is assisting police in this investigation. 

Investigations are ongoing.

59 DRIVERS TICKETED BY AIRPORT DIVISION OFFICERS IN
PAST 24 HOUR   

Officers from the Airport Divisions conducted road checks in the western part of the New Providence, Friday 27th July, 2018. Their efforts, which were intended to educate, reduce crime, and to minimize the ability of criminals to commit criminal activity, resulted in the 59 drivers being ticketed for various traffic offences.

SAFETY DRIVING TIPS – Obey all traffic laws
  • Don’t drink, text or utilize anything that will distract you while driving.
  • Obey the speed limits and traffic signal lights
  • Be alert and ready to stop. Look out for people walking on the street, especially where there are no sidewalks.
  • Be extra cautious around pedestrian crossing, slow down and watch out for children on the streets.
  • Do not overtake, stay in your lane.
  • Remember to slow down and drive for both you and others.
