POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN SOLVING COUNTRY’SLATEST HOMICIDE.

Nassau, Bahamas - Police on the Island of New Providence are investigating a shooting incident Saturday, 16th June, 2018 which has left one man dead.

According to reports, shortly after 12:0:00midnight, a man was standing in front of a bar on Crooked Island Street, when he was shot. Emergency Medical Services Personnel were called to the scene and attempted to revive the male but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead on scene.

Investigations are ongoing.

Police are appealing to members of the public, especially those who were in the area of the bar on Crooked Island Street, during the time of this incident, to come forth with any information they may have that can assist with this investigation.

18 DRIVERS TICKETED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS IN PAST 24 HOUR  

Officers from the Mobile Divisions conducted road checks in various parts of the island. Their efforts, which were intended to educate, reduce crime, and to minimize the ability of criminals to commit criminal activity, resulted in the arrest of 8 persons for outstanding criminal warrants, assault, house breaking and stealing, over the past 48 hours. 

Additionally, 18 drivers were ticketed for various traffic violations

SAFETY TIPS – TAKE A STAND AGAINST ILLEGAL FIREARMS BY COOPERATING WITH THE POLICE IN PROVIDING INFORMATION REGARDING THE WHEREABOUTS OF ANY ILLEGAL FIREARM.
