POLICE PROBE SHOOTING INCIDENT

POLICE are investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting incident that has left a man detained in hospital early this morning.

Around 3:30am, a man was brought to hospital in a private vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. Preliminary reports are, that the man was driving in a vehicle on Baillou Hill Road, when the occupants of a Honda vehicle fired several shots at him before speeding off.


MAN ARRESTED FOR ILLEGAL FIREARM AND AMMO BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS


Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, officers from the Mobile Division were on patrol on Bernard Road around 7:30pm last night, when they saw a man driving a Honda vehicle acting suspiciously. The officers ordered the man to stop the vehicle, but he refused and sped off. The officers gave chase and the vehicle later crashed into a wall at Bar Twenty Corner, where the driver was caught. A search was conducted of the vehicle and a .32 pistol containing several rounds of ammunition was found. The 24 – year old man of Culmerville was taken into custody and is expected to appear in court early this week to be formally charged.

Police can confirmed that the suspect is on bail for an indictable offence is being electronically monitored.

6 ARRESTED FOR HOUSE BREAKING DURING OPERATION ‘ZERO’

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, a team of officers from ‘Operation Zero’ conducted an operation in the South Central Division area yesterday that targeted a number of persons suspected to be involved in criminal activities

The operation resulted in the arrest of six (6) males for House Breaking.

7 ARRESTED DURING FLYING SQUAD OPERATION


POLICE are reporting the arrest of 7 persons for various criminal offences to include murder, firearms, stolen vehicle and threats of death during a crime suppression operation conducted by the Flying Squad on Friday 26th June 2015.

The operation which is consistent with the Commissioner’s 2015 Policing Priorities targeted persons involved in criminal activities, such as drugs and firearms, persons wanted for various criminal offences, prolific offenders, persons wanted for outstanding court warrants and motorists operating in Breach of the Traffic Laws.
