POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECTS IN TWO ARMED ROBBERIES

Nassau, Bahamas - In the first incident, around 3:00pm on Friday 6th November 2015, two men armed with a handgun robbed a business establishment located on Joe Farrington Road of cash before fleeing on foot.

Two hours later around 5:00pm a male in a white Altima vehicle robbed a male on Fire Trail Road of a celle phone before speeding off.

ILLEGAL FIREARM SEIZED, 2 MEN IN CUSTODY

Police are reporting that shortly before 12:00midnight on Friday 6th November 2015, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Gang Investigations Unit were on routine patrol in the area of the Marathon Mall, when two adult males who aroused their suspicions were searched and a handgun along with 2 rounds of ammunition were found in their possession. The two men were taken into custody for questioning.

SUSPECT IN SHOOTING BEING SOUGHT

Police is searching for a male suspect driving a black Honda vehicle, who shot a man on Carew Street shortly after 8:00pm on Friday 6th November 2015. The man was transported to hospital where he is detained in stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing.

THE POLICE ARE URGING CITIZENS TO CONTINUE COLLABORATING WITH THEM IN AN EFFORT TO RID THE COUNTRY OF ILLEGAL FIREARMS, WHICH ARE THE WEAPONS OF CHOICE IN MURDERS.

ANYONE WITH INFORMATION ON ILLEGAL WEAPONS OR ANY SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITIES, NO MATTER HOW SMALL OR INSIGNIFICANT (THE TIP) MAY SEEM, ARE ASKED TO ANONYMOUSLY

WEEKLY PREVENTION CRIME TIP - IF YOU WITNESS A CRIME

If you see or suspect a crime is being committed, pay particular attention to the features of the offender(s) and any vehicles involved. Try to be prepared to provide at least the following about the offenders:

1. Age, color, height, and weight;

2. Hair color and style, beard and mustache;

3. Notable characteristics (acne, scars, glasses, mental state, etc.)

4. Clothing description;

5. Location where last seen;

6. Last known direction of travel; 7. Vehicle description and distinctive markings.

8. Witnesses who wish to remain anonymous may do so. It is more important that a response be dispatched as quickly as possible.
