RBPF Nassau: Woman sexually assaulted in her home - Convenience store robbed

POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECTS IN TWO ARMED ROBBERIES

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are seeking the public’s help in locating the suspects responsible for two separate armed robberies that occurred on Saturday 21st May 2016.

In the first incident, shortly after 8:00pm, two men armed with a handgun entered a convenience store located on Faith Avenue South, where they robbed the proprietor of cash, a gold chain and a set of keys before fleeing in a grey Nissan Cube vehicle.

Then shortly after 9:00pm, a man was standing in front of his home located at Lazaretto Road, when four males armed with a handgun approached and robbed him of cash before fleeing on foot.

Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE PROBE SEXUAL ASSAULT OF A WOMAN

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an alleged sexual assault of a woman that occurred on Sunday 22nd May 2016.

Reports are that shortly after 2:00am, a woman was at her home located at Fifth Street Coconut Grove off Robinson Road, when a man armed with knife forced his way inside and sexually assaulted her before fleeing on foot.

Investigations are ongoing.

FIREARM SEIZED, ONE MAN IN CUSTODY

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2016, officers from the Firearm Tracing and Investigations Unit took another illegal firearm off the streets of New Providence on Friday 20th May 2016.

Reports are that shortly before 2:00pm, officers from the Firearm Tracing and Investigations Unit were on routine patrol on Mutton Fish Drive off Blue Hill Road, when they stopped a Honda Fit vehicle driven by a suspicious male. The officers conducted a search of the vehicle and uncovered a .45 pistol with a live round of ammunition. The suspect was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.
