Nassau police search for suspects in 2 shootings incidents, one man dead - Investigating 2 sexual assaults, 1 suspect in custody

POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECTS IN TWO SHOOTING INCIDENTS, ONE MAN DEAD

Nassau, Bahamas - In the first incident shortly after 1:00pm on Saturday 2nd April 2016, a male was on Fire Trail Road west, when two men armed with a handgun approached and robbed him off cash, a watch and cell phone. The assailants shot the victim before fleeing in a white Honda Fit vehicle. The victim was transported to hospital where he remains in stable condition.

In the second incident, shortly after 6:00pm on Saturday 2nd April 2016, a man was sitting near a business establishment located on Churchill Avenue off Soldier Road, when three men armed with a handgun approached and shot him before fleeing in a green Honda vehicle. Police recovered a .357 handgun from the scene. The victim was transported to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Investigations are ongoing in both of these incidents.

POLICE INVESTIGATING TWO SEXUAL ASSAULTS, ONE SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

In the first incident shortly after 11:00pm on Saturday 2nd April 2016, a male went to an ATM machine on Prince Charles Drive leaving a female inside his Honda Civic vehicle. Moments later as he was about to enter his vehicle a male armed with a handgun approached and robbed him off his vehicle, speeding off with the female inside. The gunman took the female to an undisclosed area in western New Providence where he sexually assaulted her and later left the vehicle.

In the second incident, shortly after 2:00am on Sunday 3rd April 2016, officers from the Selective Enforcement Unit were on routine patrol on Charles Vincent Street, when they came across a vehicle with an adult male and a female visitor inside. The female visitor reported to the officers that the adult male had just sexually assaulted her. The male was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.

Investigations are ongoing in both of these incidents
