Man shot in Sunset Park - 2 in custody following drug seizure - Police foils armed robbery; firearm recovered
POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN LOCATING SUSPECT IN SHOOTING INCIDENT
Nassau, Bahamas - Police is seeking the public’s assistance in locating two suspects
responsible for a shooting incident that has left a man detained in
hospital on Thursday 26th November 2015.
Reports are that shortly before 10:00pm, a man was standing in front of a
home located in Sunset Park, when two men in a burgundy Honda Accord
vehicle approached and shot him before speeding off. The victim was
rushed to hospital where he remains in stable condition.
Investigations are ongoing.
2 MEN IN CUSTODY FOLLOWING A DRUG SEIZURE
Drug Enforcement Unit Officers took into custody two adult males following a drug seizure on Thursday 26th November 2015.
According to reports shortly after 9:00am, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers acting on intelligence intercepted a vehicle with two men in the Okra Hill area after observing them collecting several suspicious packages from a Family Island mail boat. The officers conducted a search of the packages and found just over 10 pounds of marijuana. The two men were subsequently taken into custody.
POLICE OFFICER FOILS ARMED ROBBERY; FIREARM RECOVERED
A police officer is being commended for his courageous actions that led to an armed robbery being foiled on Thursday 26th November 2015.
According to reports shortly before 8:00pm, a Police Officer was in the area of a convenience store located on St. Albans Drive, when he observed two men attempting to rob the store. The officer announced he was a police officer and the robbers ran after dropping an illegal handgun. Police is actively searching for the suspect.
