POLICE SEEK HELP IN SOLVING A SHOOTING INCIDENT

Nassau, Bahamas - According to reports, shortly before 12:00noon on Monday 1st February 2016 a man was walking on Balls Alley off Shirley Street, when he was shot. The man was transported to hospital where he was treated and discharged.

Investigations are ongoing.

4 ARRESTED, 42 DRIVERS CITED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS DURING 24 HOURS PERIOD

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrest of four (4) persons during the past 24 hours for various minor and major offences. Additionally, 42 drivers were cited for various traffic violations.

ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS BEING SOUGHT

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the suspects responsible for two armed robberies that occurred on Monday 1st February 2016.

In the first incident, shortly after 1:00pm, a woman was walking in the area of Claridge Road, when a man armed with a handgun approached and robbed her of her handbag containing cash before fleeing on foot.

Then later that night shortly before 12:00midnight, two males were walking on Kemp Road, when four males armed with a handgun approached and robbed them of two cell phones, two wrist watches, a gold ring and cash before fleeing on foot.

Investigations are ongoing.
