Nassau police seek suspects for 3 armed robberies - Man shot in resort area - 11 arrests

POLICE SEEK SUSPECTS IN THREE ARMED ROBBERIES

Police are asking the public’s help in locating the suspects responsible for three armed robberies that occurred on Saturday 6th February 2016.

In the first incident, shortly after 2:00pm, a man was on a beach near a resort in western New Providence, when two men armed with handguns approached and robbed him of cash and a gold chain. The suspects then shot the victim before fleeing on foot. The victim was rushed to hospital where he remains in stable condition.

Then about fifteen minutes later, a woman was on Blake Road when two men armed with handguns approached her and robbed her of her handbag before fleeing on foot.

In the final incident, shortly after 4:30pm, a man and a woman were walking on Soldier Road, when they were approached by two males armed with handguns, who robbed them of cash and a pair of boots before fleeing on foot.

Investigations are ongoing in both incidents.

SUSPECT WANTED FOR ARMED ROBBERY AMONG 11 ARRESTED DURING POLICE OPERATION

A man wanted in connection with a recent supermarket armed robbery is among 11 persons arrested by officers from the Selective Enforcement Unit on Saturday 6th February 2016.

Shortly after 3:30pm officers from the Selective Enforcement Team acting on intelligence arrested the suspect Fabian McKenzie who is wanted in connection with the recent armed robbery at Super Value Supermarket locate on Robinson Road and East Street.

Ten (10) other individuals were arrested during the operation for questioning reference to stolen vehicle, armed robbery, firearms and possession of dangerous drugs.

POLICE INVESTIGATING A SHOOTING INCIDENT

According to reports, shortly after 1:00am on Sunday 7th February 2016, a man was in the area of a resort in western New Providence, when he was shot. The man was transported to hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing.
