RBPF Nassau: Ambulance stolen - Handgun seized, 3 arrested - Suspects appear in court today

EASTERN DIVISION OFFICERS SEIZE HANDGUN, 3 ARRESTED

Nassau, Bahamas - Police have taken another firearm off the streets of New Providence following the arrest of an adult male and two adult females on Sunday 30th August 2015.

According to reports, around 9:00pm, a team of officers from the Eastern Division acting on intelligence executed a search warrant on a home located at Thundra Court, where they uncovered a handgun. The three suspects were taken into custody for questioning.

POLICE PROBE THEFT OF AN AMBULANCE

According to reports, shortly after 7:30pm on Saturday 29th August 2015, an EMS ambulance from the Public Hospital Authority was dispatched to a home located at Herbert’s Way, Joan’s Heights West to attend to an elderly female in need of medical attention. On arrival at the scene the medical attendants exited the 2006 Ford F-350 ambulance and went inside of the home. Shortly thereafter, a young male jumped into the ambulance and sped off crashing into two vehicles. The suspect then alighted from the ambulance and fled on foot. The ambulance and the two vehicles were extensively damaged. Police is searching for the suspect.

Investigations are ongoing


SUSPECTS TO BE ARRAIGNED IN COURT TODAY

The following suspects will be arraigned at the Nassau Street Magistrate’s Court, 10:00am on Monday 31st August 2015:

A 20 – year old male of Second Street reference to Abduction, Causing Harm and Threats of Death Two males ages 60 and 23 along with a 48 – year old female of Anquilla Avenue reference to Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm

A 34 – year old male of Wilson Track reference to Causing Harm

A 19 – year old male reference to Stolen Vehicle

A 53 – year old male reference to Indecent Assault

A 25 – year old male of Dignity Gardens reference to Armed Robbery and Unlawful Possession
