RBPF Nassau: Illegal firearm seized, 3 in custody - Armed robbery arrest - Suspect in custody for shooting incident

MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS SEIZE ILLEGAL FIREARM, 3 SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY

Nassau, Bahamas - Police took another illegal firearm of the streets of New Providence on Thursday 27th August 2015, following the arrest of a 60 - year old male, a 48 – year old female and a 23 – year old male who is on bail for a serious offence. (The 23- year old male is also being electronically monitored)

According to reports, shortly after 9:30pm on Thursday 27th August 2015, officers from the Mobile Division acting on information received, executed a search warrant on a home located at Anguilla and Current Roads, Yamacraw Beach Estates. During the search of the home the officers uncovered .40 Austria Pistol with 3 live rounds of ammunition. The three occupants of the home were taken into custody for questioning.

SUSPECT IN CUSTODY FOR ARM ROBBERY

According to reports, around 9:30am on Thursday 27th August 2015, officers from the Southwestern Division acting on intelligence, went to the home of a 25 – year old man located at Dignity Gardens, where they arrested him in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on 5th August 2015.

SUSPECT IN CUSTODY FOR SHOOTING INCIDENT

According to reports, shortly before 1:00am on Friday 28th August 2015, a man was walking on Bahama Avenue and East Street, when he was shot in the leg. The man was rushed to hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
A short while later police arrested a 34 – year old man in connection with this incident.
