Nassau police take 11 illegal firearms out the hands of criminals in 24-hour period

Nassau, Bahamas -  where they uncovered a .40 pistol with three rounds of ammunition. Three adult males and an adult female were taken into custody.

Earlier that same day over in Grand Bahama, a combination of excellent police work and swift action by officers on that island led to the arrest of three adult males and an adult female believed to be part of a major firearm trafficking ring. Nine (9) illegal handguns along with a large amount of ammunition and several bullet proof vest were seized.

Then on Friday 5th February 2016, officers from the Southwestern Division arrested an adult male at a home on Fire Trail Road after they found a handgun with ammunition in his possession.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF) has renewed their appeal to citizens to collaborate with the police in removing illegal weapons from the hands of criminals in The Bahamas.

The public is also being asked to call contact the police with information regarding the whereabouts of any illegal firearm.
