POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN SHOOTING INCIDENT


Nassau, Bahamas - Police are seeking the public’s help in solving a shooting incident that has left one man detained in hospital on Monday 22nd September 2014.

According to reports, shortly before 9:00pm, the victim was in a vehicle at the junction of Faith Avenue and Carmichael Road, when he got into an argument with four men in a champagne colored vehicle that resulted in one of the men shooting him twice to the chest area. The suspects then sped off.

The victim was taken to hospital where he is detained in critical condition. Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE DECLARE OPERATION SHOWTIME A MAJOR SUCCESS AFTER A WEEKEND OF ARRESTS


Nassau, Bahamas - POLICE are reporting that a five-day operation dubbed Operation Showtime has been a tremendous success.

The operation targeted persons wanted for a number of serious crimes and persons involved in the sale of drugs and possession of firearms.

The overall success of the operation was the seizure of 5 illegal firearms, and the arrest of over 80 persons for a number of major crimes including, murder, armed robbery, drugs, firearms and stolen vehicle.

The operation, which is consistent with the Commissioner’s 2014 Policing Priorities, was under the command of Assistant Commissioner Anthony Ferguson.

SUSPECT ARRESTED AND ANOTHER SHOT AFTER ATTEMPTED HOUSEBREAKING IN GARDEN HILLS

A 29 – year old male of Fox Hill and a 19 – year male of Montel Heights are in custody following an attempted house breaking on Monday 22nd September 2014.

According to reports, shortly before 2:00pm a man was at his Garden Hills home, when four men attempted to break inside of his residence by forcing open a rear door. The man armed with his licensed firearm confronted the suspects who suspects tried to attack him, resulting in the 29 –year old suspect being shot to the knee. The other suspects fled on foot.

A short while later police arrested the 19 – year old suspect, who is also wanted in connection with the recent murder at Montel Heights.
