Nassau shooting victim dies in hospital - Suspects in 2 armed robberies being sought

SHOOTING VICTIM DIES IN HOSPITAL

Nassau, Bahamas - A man who was shot on Sunday 25th October 2015, died in hospital shortly after 3:00am on Monday 2nd November 2015.

According to reports, around 8:00pm on Sunday 25th October 2015, the victim along with another male were standing in front of a home located on Hay Street, when the occupants of a silver vehicle pulled up and shot them before speeding off. The victim and the other male were transported to hospital where they were detained.

Investigations are ongoing.

SUSPECTS IN TWO ARMED ROBBERIES BEING SOUGHT

In the first incident, shortly before 7:00pm on Monday 2nd November 2015, a man armed with a handgun robbed a service station located on Carmichael Road of a small amount of cash before fleeing on foot.

In the second incident, shortly after 9:00pm on Monday 2nd November 2015, a woman and a man were sitting on a vehicle in front of a home located at Sir Lynden Pindling Estates, when two men in a silver Honda vehicle armed with a handguns approached and robbed them of two cell phones before speeding off.

Investigations are ongoing.

THE POLICE ARE URGING CITIZENS TO CONTINUE COLLABORATING WITH THEM IN AN EFFORT TO RID THE COUNTRY OF ILLEGAL FIREARMS, WHICH ARE THE WEAPONS OF CHOICE IN MURDERS.

MEANWHILE, THE POLICE CONTINUE TO INTENSIFY OPERATIONS ACROSS THE ISLAND AND COUNTRY AND ARE IN VIGOROUS PURSUIT OF ILLEGAL GUNS AND THEIR MOVEMENT ACROSS OUR BORDERS.

ANYONE WITH INFORMATION ON ILLEGAL WEAPONS OR ANY SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITIES, NO MATTER HOW SMALL OR INSIGNIFICANT (THE TIP) MAY SEEM, ARE ASKED TO ANONYMOUSLY CALL POLICE AT 919 OR CRIME STOPPERS AT 328-TIPS (8477) (NEW PROVIDENCE) OR 1-242-300-8476 (FAMILY ISLANDS)

WEEKLY PREVENTION CRIME TIP - IF YOU WITNESS A CRIME

If you see or suspect a crime is being committed, pay particular attention to the features of the offender(s) and any vehicles involved. Try to be prepared to provide at least the following about the offenders:

1. Age, color, height, and weight;

2. Hair color and style, beard and mustache;

3. Notable characteristics (acne, scars, glasses, mental state, etc.)

4. Clothing description;

5. Location where last seen;

6. Last known direction of travel;

7. Vehicle description and distinctive markings.

Witnesses who wish to remain anonymous may do so. It is more important that a response be dispatched as quickly as possible.
