POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN SHOOTING AND ARMED ROBBERY

Nassau, Bahamas -
In the first incident, shortly before 11:00am, on Sunday 3rd May 2015, a man was standing in an open lot located on Ferguson Street, when a man known to him armed with handgun, shot him in the arm and fled on foot. The victim was transported to hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

In the second incident, shortly after 11:00pm, on Sunday 3rd May 2015, a man was standing in front of his Shirley Park residence, when two men armed with a handgun robbed him of his blue 2003 blue Toyota Vitz vehicle before speeding off.

Investigations are ongoing in both of these incidents


DRUGS AND STOLEN VEHICLES RECOVERED DURING FLYING SQUAD OPERATION

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, officers from the Flying Squad conducted an operation throughout New Providence last night, that targeted persons wanted for various criminal offences.

The operation resulted in the recovery of 3 pounds of marijuana, the recovery of 2 stolen vehicles and the arrest of 5 persons for murder, armed robbery, possession of dangerous drugs and firearms.

11 SUSPECTS ARRESTED DURING SUNDAY MORNING OPERATION

POLICE are reporting the arrest of 11 persons for various criminal offences to include, armed robbery, possession of dangerous drugs, house breaking, threats of death, and outstanding court warrants during an operation conducted throughout New Providence yesterday morning.

The operation which is consistent with the Commissioner’s 2015 Policing Priorities, targeted persons involved in criminal activities, such as drugs and firearms, persons wanted for various criminal offences, prolific offenders, persons wanted for outstanding court warrants and motorists operating in Breach of the Traffic Laws.
