Police Seek Public's Assistance in Solving an Armed Robbery - (Nassau, Bahamas) Police are requesting the public’s assistance in solving an armed robbery that occurred on Monday 21st April 2014.  

According to reports, around 5:00pm a man armed with a handgun robbed a Beauty Supply Store located on Market Street and Palmetto Avenue of cash and fled on a bicycle.  

Investigations are ongoing.     

Police Investigate Shooting in Montel Heights, 1 Suspect in Custody - A 22 year old man is in custody assisting police with investigations into a shooting incident that has left three men detained in hospital on Monday 21st April 2014.  

According to reports, shortly after 8:30pm three men were standing on a park located in Montel Heights, when a man armed with a handgun emerged from a track road and shot one of them to the leg, another to the side and the other to the chest.

The men were rushed to hospital via a private vehicle where two of them are detained in stable condition and the other in serious condition.

Investigations are ongoing.

3 Firearms Seized Over Easter Holiday Weekend - In the first incident, around 10:30am, Police in Exuma acting on intelligence conducted a search of an abandoned truck in Clapboard Alley, where they found a handgun.

In the second incident, shortly after 3:30pm Police in New Providence, acting on intelligence conducted a search of an abandoned building located on Augusta Street, where they uncovered a handgun along with a small quantity of marijuana.  

In the third incident, shortly after 5:30pm, Police in New Providence, acting on intelligence recovered a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition near the Coral Harbour Round- About.  

No arrests were made in these incidents.  Investigations are ongoing.  

259 Drivers Cited During Easter Weekend Operation - Consistent with the Commissioner Policing Plan 2014, Officers from the Police Traffic Department conducted an aggressive operation code named “Operation Easter Blitz” over the Easter holiday weekend that targeted drivers who were in breach of the rules and regulations of the road.

The operation reaped the following results:  

• Two Hundred and Fifty Nine (259) Persons were cited for various Traffic Infractions.  

• Three (3) Adult Males were arrested for Assaulting A Police Officer, Obscene Language  and Disorderly Bahaviour

 • Nine (9) Adults were arrested for Outstanding Court Warrants  

243 Drivers Cited by Mobile Division During Easter Monday Operation - Consistent with the Commissioner Policing Plan 2014, Officers from the Mobile Division conducted an aggressive operation on Easter Monday that targeted drivers who were in breach of the rules and regulations of the road.  

The operation resulted in 243 divers being cited for various Traffic Violations   

Police are appealing to anyone who may have any information regarding any of these incidents, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands)
