RBPF Nassau: Shooting incident has left an adult female with injuries

POLICE INVESTIGATES SHOOTING INCIDENT

Nassau, Bahamas - Police on New Providence are investigation a shooting incident Monday, 27th January, 2020 which has left an adult female with injuries. 

According to reports, shortly after 1:00am, a man and a woman were driving on Mackey Street near Chesapeake   Road, when occupants of a black Honda vehicle fired shots in their direction, injuring the female before speeding away. Paramedics transported the woman to hospital where she is listed in stable condition.

Police are appealing to members of the public, who may have information that can assist with this investigation, to contact the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991/2, Crime stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477) or the nearest police station.

Investigations are ongoing.

ILLEGAL FIREARM AND DANGEROUS DRUGS RECOVERED

Police have recovered an illegal firearm and a quantity of dangerous drugs from the streets of New Providence, Sunday, 26th January, 2020.

In the first incident, according to reports, shortly before 1:00pm, Operations Officers acting on intelligence, conducted a search of a bushy are on Tonique Williams-Darling Highway and recovered a quantity of suspected marijuana.

Weight: 2lbs.

In the second incident, according to reports, shortly after 2:00pm, Operation Officers acting on intelligence and with the assistance of K-9 Officer Rexo, conducted a search of an abandon building on Quarry Mission Road and recovered six pounds (6 lbs.) of suspected marijuana and a .9 millimeter pistol.

No arrest was made in these incidents. Investigations are ongoing.
