Nassau shooting incident on Laird Street - Four in custody after drug find

POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECT IN SHOOTING INCIDENT

Nassau, Bahamas - POLICE are searching for a male suspect responsible for a shooting incident that has left a man detained in hospital on Saturday 18th February 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 12:00midnight, a man was standing in front of a home located on Laird Street, when a man armed with a handgun approached and shot him before fleeing on foot. The man was taken to hospital where he is detained with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigations are ongoing.

FOUR HELD, IN CONNECTION WITH DRUG FIND

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Police Plan for 2017, Mobile Division officers seized 22 small bottles of marijuana after intercepting a car while on routine at Hospital Lane and Bias Street on Friday 17th February 2017.

Reports are that shortly before 9:00pm, Mobile Division officers were on routine patrol on Hospital Lane and Bias Street, when a grey Cube motorcar occupied by three males was intercepted.

The vehicle was subsequently searched and the drugs reportedly found.

The three male occupants were taken into custody in connection with the discovery.
