SHOOTING VICTIM IDENTIFIED

Nassau, Bahamas - Police have officially identified the male who was shot and later died on Tuesday, 1st January, 2019 at Market Street, as Terrance Ricardo Rolle Jr. age 19 years of Parker Street.

Police are appealing to anyone with information regarding this incident, to anonymously call police at 919/911, crime stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477) the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991/2 or the nearest Police Station. All information will be held in the strictest of confidence.

DANGEROUS DRUGS RECOVERED

Police have recovered a quantity of dangerous drugs from the streets of New Providence, Wednesday, 2nd January, 2019.

According to reports, shortly before 6:00pm, Mobile Division Officers, while on patrol on Baillou Hill Road, observed a male walking behind a building. The male, upon seeing the officers, began acting in a suspicious manner and began to run. Officers gave chase after the man, and saw when he threw a package to the ground, jumped a fence and made good his escape. The officers recovered the package and found it to contain suspected marijuana.

Investigations are ongoing.

US CITIZENS ARRESTED FOR FAILING TO DECLARE

An adult male and female, citizens of the United States were taken into custody Tuesday, 2nd January, 2019, after they failed to declare a large sum of US Currency.

According to reports, shortly after 4:00pm, the couple presented themselves to a US Border Control Officer at Lynden Pindling International Airport, for travel into Florida, and fail to declare the true amount of cash in their possession. The officers conducted a search of the couple and found them to be in possession of US Currency in excess of $10,000.00

They were handed over to the Police and are expected to be formally charged before a Magistrate Court this week.

FIREARMS LICENSING OFFICE NEW OPERATING HOURS

The Royal Bahamas Police Force wishes to notify members of the public that it’s Firearms Licensing Office on University Boulevard will be open to customers from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am - 4pm.

Effective 1st December, 2018 through 12th January, 2019 the Firearms Licensing Office (New Providence) will be open every Saturday from 9:00am to 1:00om to assist members of the public.

All Firearms Licenses expires as of 31st December, 2018. After 14th January, 2019 a late fee of $50.00 will be added to each firearm license at the time of renewal.

Firearm License Holders, who have not already done so, are asked to visit the office to renew their licenses.

PREVENTION CRIME TIP – Credit card fraud protection tips
