SHOTGUN SEIZED AND 15 SUSPECTS ARRESTED AS POLICE ANTI-CRIME OPERATION CONTINUES
Nassau, Bahamas - POLICE are reporting the recovery of a shotgun and the arrest of 15 persons for various criminal offences, including murder, firearms, possession of dangerous drugs, house breaking and robbery as their anti-crime operation continued last night.
The operation which is consistent with the Commissioner’s 2015 Policing Priorities targeted persons involved in criminal activities, such as drugs and firearms, persons wanted for various criminal offences, prolific offenders, persons wanted for outstanding court warrants and motorists operating in Breach of the Traffic Laws.
26 ARRESTED DURING TWO SEPARATE POLICE OPERATIONS
POLICE are reporting the arrest of 26 persons in separate operations conducted by officers from the Southeastern and Southwestern Divisions on Friday 27th March 2015.
During the operation conducted by Southeastern Division officers, 11 persons were arrested for various offences such as possession of dangerous drugs, House breaking, threats of death and causing harm.
During the operation conducted by Southwestern Division officers, 15 persons were arrested for various offences such as, house breaking, possession of dangerous drugs, stolen vehicle and armed robbery.
FRIDAY MORNING POLICE OPERATION NETS 12 ARRESTS
POLICE are reporting the arrest of 10
persons for questioning reference to a number of major and minor
incidents to include dangerous drugs, stolen vehicle and house breaking
during an early morning operation conducted throughout New Providence on
Friday morning.
HANDGUN SEIZED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS
According to reports, shortly after 7:00am, on Friday 27th March 2015, officers from the Mobile Division acting on Intelligence went to Mollie Street, where they uncovered a handgun. No one was arrested for this discovery.
