RBPF Nassau: Suspects in custody shortly after armed robbery

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2016, Quick response by the police has led to the arrest of two suspects shortly after an armed robbery on Thursday 18th August 2016.

Reports are that shortly before 3:00pm, Police received a report that two men armed with handguns held up two patrons at a fast food stall located on Potters Cay Dock and robbed them off cash and two cell phones before speeding off in a green Honda vehicle.

Police immediately sent out an All Points Bulletin (APB) for the vehicle. Shortly afterwards, around 3:30pm, Selected Enforcement Unit officers, on patrol spotted the car in the Kemp Road area. A chase ensued that ended on Sutton Street, Kemp Road, where the vehicle came to a stop after it crashed.

The two male suspects got out of the car and fled on foot. Police gave chase and arrested the two suspects a short while later. Police suspect the two males to be responsible for a number of armed robberies.
