Suspects in Nassau shooting death being sought - Drugs seized in two separate DEU operations, five in custody

SUSPECTS IN SHOOTING DEATH BEING SOUGHT BY POLICE

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are seeking the public’s help in locating two male suspects responsible for a shooting incident that has left an adult male dead and a juvenile male detained in hospital on Wednesday 18th may 2016.

Reports are that shortly after 10:00pm, an adult male and a juvenile male were standing in front of a home located on Burial Ground Corner, when two males armed with a handgun and shotgun approached and fired several shots at them before fleeing on foot. The adult male was pronounced dead on the scene and the juvenile male was transported to hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing.

DRUGS SEIZED IN TWO SEPARATE DEU OPERATIONS, FIVE IN CUSTODY

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2016, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit took into custody three adult males and two adult females following the seizure of a quantity of dangerous drugs in two separate incidents on Wednesday 18th May 2016.

In the first incident, around 3:30pm, a team of officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, executed a search warrant on a home located on Fire Trail Road, where uncovered 14 pounds of marijuana. An adult male resident of the home was taken into custody in connection with this seizure.

Then later that evening around 5:30pm, a team of officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, executed a search warrant on a home located on Cowpen Road, where uncovered 7 ounces of marijuana. Two adult males and two adult females residents of the home were taken into custody in connection with this second seizure.
