SUSPECTS TO BE ARRAIGNED IN COURT

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are pleased to report that thirteen (13) suspects will appear in the Magistrate Court on Monday, 22nd May, 2018, at 2:00pm to be formally charged with various offences.

They are:

22 year old male to be formally charged with Rape.

31 year old male to be formally charged with Rape.

38 year old male to be formally charged with Abduction of unmarried person.

21, 23, 34 year old males to be formally charged with Fraud and stealing by reason of employment, in separate investigations.

Two 24 year old males to be charged with Armed Robbery.

28 year old female to be formally charged with Armed Robbery.

38 year old male and a juvenile male to be charged with causing harm, in two separate investigation.

26 year old male to be formally charged with Possession of unlicensed firearm.

34 year old male to be charged with Assault with a deadly weapon.

Police wishes to thank members of the public for assisting with information, which has led to the arrest of suspects in these matters. We encourage members of the public to continue to partner with us as we work diligently to create safer communities.

ILLEGAL FIREARMS AND DANGEROUS DRUGS RECOVERED, 1 PERSON IN CUSTODY

The enduring and dedicated work of the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Police Force has led to one illegal firearm and a quantity of dangerous drugs being recovered from the streets of New Providence.

Shortly before 2:00am, Monday, 22nd May, 2018, Flying Squad officers conducted a search of a home on Joe Farrington Road and recovered a .380 pistol and a quantity of suspected marijuana.

An adult male, was taken into custody and is expected to be formally charged before the Magistrate Court later this week.
