RBPF Nassau: Suspects to be charged in court on Monday - Ammunition uncovered

SUSPECTS TO BE CHARGED IN COURT ON MONDAY

Nassau, Bahamas - A 26yr old male of Yellow Elder Gardens will be charged tomorrow for the murder of Nadia Cartwright and the armed robbery and attempted murder of her 32 yr old male companion that occurred on 8th August 2014, on Blue Hill Road;

• A 20yr old male of Dunmore Street will be charged tomorrow for the murder of Carlos Taylor that occurred on 02 August 2014 at an alley between Fleming and Dunmore Streets;

• A 26yr old male of Bellot Road will be charged tomorrow for assault with a deadly weapon against police officers that occurred;

• A 25yr old male of Martin Street will be charged tomorrow for armed robbery;

• An 18yr olf male of Windsor Lane will be charged tomorrow for assault with a deadly weapon against police officers;

• A 24yr old male of Flamingo Gardens will be charged tomorrow for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition;

• A 27yr old male resident of Fresh Creek, Andros will be charged tomorrow for assault with a deadly weapon;

• Two males’ ages 27yrs and 28yrs of Mangrove Cay and Fresh Creek respectively will be charged for possession of unlicensed firearm.

POLICE UNCOVER AMMUNITION

• On Sunday 17th August 2014, sometime around 8:30am officers from the Mobile Unit and Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit responded to a call from a parishioner at a local church on blue Hill Road, who reported finding a firearm on the hood of her vehicle. Officers retrieved a black .40 pistol loaded with 8 live bullets.

POLICE UNCOVER AMMUNITION

• On Sunday 10 August 2014, acting on intelligence, officer from the Firearm Tracing and Investigations Unit went in the area of Elizabeth Avenue where they discovered a small quantity of 9mm bullets in a vacant lot.

POLICE are appealing to anyone with information regarding any crime, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands)

(FRAUDSTERS WILL TRANSFER MONIES TO YOUR ACCOUNT AS ABOVE AND ASK YOU TO RATE THE SERVICE BY SENDING THE MONEY TO AN INDIVIDUAL SOMEWHERE IN THE WORLD. THEY THEN GET THE MONEY AND DISAPPEAR AND YOU WOULD HAVE FACILITATED IT.) REPORT IT TO YOUR LOCAL POLICE.
