CHRISTMAS TIPS FOR DRIVERS

When holidays come around it's good to think about the safety of you and your family.

So to ensure you get to your destinations safely here are a few tips:

• Avoid alcohol (driving and alcohol don't mix. If you're attending a social function and intend to drink, leave your car at home or nominate a sober driver. Never get in a car with a drunk driver.)
• Drive within the speed limit at all times
• Be courteous and show consideration to other road users
• Don’t text and drive
• Have your vehicle checked or serviced to minimize the inconvenience of a breakdown
• Be careful when overtaking
• Make sure you have a safe distance between you and the vehicle in front, so you have
enough time to stop suddenly if you need to
• Pay attention to your high and low beam.
• Wear your seatbelt at all times, and ensure every passenger is securely restrained
• Get adequate rest and a good night's sleep before driving
• Expect the unexpected!

Stay safe and enjoy the drive
