Nassau police searching for suspects in 2 armed robberies - Two illegal guns seized, 3 men in custody

POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECTS IN TWO ARMED ROBBERIES

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are seeking the public’s help in locating the suspects responsible for two separate armed robberies.

In the first incident, shortly after 3:00pm on Saturday 20th August 2016, a man and a woman were on West Bay Street, when a man armed with a handgun approached and robbed them off a handbag containing personal items before fleeing on foot.

Then shortly after 3:00am on Sunday 21st August 2016, two women had just pulled up to a home located at Halls Close off Gladstone Road, when they were approached by two males armed with a handgun who robbed them of a 2006 Honda car before speeding off.

Investigations are ongoing.


TWO ILLEGAL GUNS SEIZED, THREE MEN IN CUSTODY

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Police Priorities for 2016, Police arrested three suspects following the seizure of two more illegal firearms off the streets of New Providence, in two separate incidents on Sunday 21st August 2016.

In the first incident, shortly after 2:00pm, Selective Enforcement Team officers on routine patrol arrested two men in the area of Peardale Manor, after they found a .380 pistol with 5 rounds of ammunition in their possession. The two suspects are expected to appear in court on Monday 22nd August 2016 to be formally charged.

Then shortly after 5:00am, Northeastern Division officers on routine patrol conducted a search of a male at 6th Terrace, Centerville and uncovered a pistol with 13 rounds of ammunition. The suspect was subsequently arrested and is expected to appear in court on Monday 22nd August 2016 to be formally charged.
