TWO MEN ARRESTED FOR DRUG POSSESSION
Nassau, Bahamas -
Two males ages 42 and 37 are is custody after they were arrested for possession of dangerous drugs yesterday.
Reports are that shortly before 9:00am, the two males were riding a motorcycle on Thatch Palm Avenue, Pinewood Gardens, when a police motorcyclist stopped them for a traffic violation. A search was conducted of the motorcycle and 7 ounces of marijuana was found. The two men were taken into custody and are expected to appear in court later this week to be formally charged.
TWO JUVENILES ARRESTED FOLLOWING AND ARMED ROBBERY
Two males ages 17 and 16 are is custody after they were arrested following an armed robbery on Monday 29th June 2015.
According to reports, shortly after 10:30pm, two adult males and two adult females were standing outside a church located on East West Highway, when three masked males armed with handguns robbed them of a cell phone, wallet and cash before fleeing on foot.
Shortly after 12:00midnight, police arrested the two suspects in connection with this incident.
7 ARRESTED OVER 24 - HOURS BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS
Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrest of seven (7) persons over that last 24 hours for various minor and major offences.
POLICE SEIZED ILLEGAL HANDGUN
According to reports, around 1:00pm yesterday, officers from the Southeastern Division acting on intelligence went to a park in Golden Gates, where they found a handgun. No one was arrested in connection with this discovery.
