US CITIZEN ARRESTS FOR FAILING TO DECLARE

Nassau, Bahamas - Three adult males ages 37, 42 and 46 years, all citizens  of the United States were taken into custody Tuesday, 4th September, 2018, after they  failed to declare a large sum of US Currency.

According to reports, shortly after 4:00pm, the trio presented themselves to a US Border Control Officer at Lynden Pindling International Airport and fail to declare the true amount of currency in their possession. The officers conducted a search of the men and recovered $51,355.00 cash.

The men were taken into custody and handed over to the Police. They ware expected to be formally charged before a Magistrate Court later today.


POLICE INVESTIGATES ARMED ROBBERY

Police are investigating an armed robbery which occurred Tuesday, 4th September, 2018.

According to reports, shortly after 11:00pm a man and woman were walking on East Bay Street near to Fowler Street, when they were approached by two men, one armed with a firearm, who robbed them of cash and jewelry before running away.
A short time later, police took an adult male of Kemp Road into custody in connection with this incident.

Investigations are ongoing.

90 DRIVERS TICKETED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS IN
PAST 24 HOUR   

Officers from the Mobile Divisions conducted road checks in various parts of the island. Their efforts, which were intended to educate, reduce crime, and to minimize the ability of criminals to commit criminal activity, resulted in the arrest of seventeen (17) persons for outstanding criminal warrants, breech of bail conditions, damage and armed robbery, over the past 24 hours.  

Additionally, 90 drivers were ticketed for various traffic violations
