WANTED SUSPECT AMONG 20 ARRESTED DURING FLYING SQUAD CRIME SUPPRESSION OPERATION
Nassau, Bahamas - The Police are reporting the arrest of 20 persons for various offences such as possession of dangerous drugs, firearms, armed robbery, and murder as their crime suppression operation led by officers from the Flying Squad intensified yesterday.
During the operation, 31 – year old Sidney Alexander Henfield of Price Street, who is wanted by police for Armed Robbery was arrested on Thompson Boulevard.The operation which is consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, targeted problem locations and persons engaged in criminal activities such as, murder, armed robbery, rape, shootings, stolen vehicle, firearms and drugs.
7 ARRESTED DURING FRIDAY MORNING OPERATION
Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, police conducted an operation in central New Providence on Friday 17th April 2015, that targeted persons wanted for various criminal offences.The operation resulted in the arrest of 8 persons for possession of dangerous, housebreaking and outstanding criminal warrants.
POLICE SEIZE FIREARM
According to reports, shortly after 1:00pm on Friday 17th April 2015, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit, acting on intelligence went to Margaret Street, where they uncovered a handgun underneath an abandoned vehicle. No one was arrested for this discovery.
