RBPF Nassau: Woman stabbed at local bar - Shooting at a nightclub and on Gibbs Corner

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP:

2 Early Morning Shooting Incidents, 1 Handgun Recovered - (Nassau, Bahamas) Police are seeking the public’s help in solving two separate shooting incidents that have left two men and a woman detained in hospital on Saturday 19th April 2014.

In the first incident, shortly before 2:00am, a man and a women was about to enter a black Honda vehicle on Gibbs Corner, when a man armed with a handgun fired several shots at them and fled on foot. The man received a gunshot wound to the leg and the woman was shot to the left side of her body. The victim’s were taken to hospital where the man is detained in stable condition and the woman is in serious condition.

Moments later Police on patrol spotted a man fitting the description of the suspect walking through Thompson Lane along with two other men. The men on seeing the police fled on foot. Police pursued the men who eluded police by jumping over a fence and disappearing into nearby bushes. Police were able to recover a handgun that then fleeing suspects dropped to the ground.

In the second incident, shortly after 2:00am, a man was at a nightclub located on Andros Avenue off East Street, where he was shot multiple times to the back. The victim was transported to hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.

An investigation has been launched into both of these incidents.

Police Investigate Stabbing Incident - Police are seeking the public’s help in solving a stabbing incident that have left a woman detained in hospital on Saturday 19th April 2014.

According to reports, around 2:30am a woman was at a local bar on Nassau Street, when she got into an altercation with a group of women, who stabbed her about the face and body.

The victim was transported to hospital where she is detained in serious condition.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have any information regarding any of these incidents, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands)
