POLICE INVESTIGATE RECENT ARMED ROBBERIES


Nassau, Bahamas - Police on New Providence are seeking the public’s assistance in solving two armed robberies which occurred Saturday, 3rd November, 2018
In the first incident, according to reports, shortly after 1:00pm, a man was at Christie Park on Nassau Street, when he was approached by a male armed with a knife, who robbed him of cash, then stabbed him about the body before running away. The injured man was transported to hospital for medical attention. 

In the second incident, according to reports, shortly after 8:00pm, two men armed with firearms, entered a major food store, on Baillou Hill Road and Carmichael Road, held an employee at bay and robbed the establishment of cash before making good their escape. 

Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE INVESTIGATES STABBING INCIDENT

Police on the Island of New Providence are investigating a stabbing incident Saturday, 3rd November, 2018 which left a Police Officer in hospital.

According to reports, shortly after 10:00am, the on duty officer was at a business establishment when he was attacked by a man armed with a knife, who stabbed him about the body. The officer was transported to hospital and is listed in serious but stable condition.

Police have taken a 26 year old male into custody in connection with this incident.
Investigations are ongoing. 

POLICE INVESTIGATE ALLEGED DROWNING 

Police are investigation an alleged drowning, Saturday, 3rd November, 2018, which occurred on the island of New Providence. 

According to reports, shortly after 10:00am, the body of an elderly adult male was discovered floating in waters at the eastern end of Goodman’s Bay. The body, which was clad in long black trousers and black, white and yellow shirt, was retrieved from the waters, and examined by Emergency Medical Personnel.  Foul play is not suspected at this time; however, an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

Investigations are ongoing.
