POLICE INVESTIGATES OVERNIGHT ARMED ROBBERY, 1 MALE
IN CUSTODY

Nassau, Bahamas - The quick action of vigilant Police officers has led to the arrest of an armed robbery suspect and the recovery of property, Saturday, 22nd September, 2018.

According to reports, shortly before 3:00am, a man was in his vehicle on Soldier Road in front of a business establishment, when he was approached by an armed man, who robbed him of his blue Toyota Vitz car, cell phones and other items. A short time later, Mobile Division Officers acting on information, located the suspect on Mackey Street and recovered the victim’s vehicle and cell phone. 

The suspect was taken into custody and is expected to be formally arraigned before a Magistrate Court next week. Investigations are ongoing. 

POLICE INVESTIGATES OVERNIGHT TRAFFIC FATALITY

Police in New Providence are investigating a traffic accident which has left an adult male dead, Friday, 21st September, 2018.

According to reports, shortly after 11:00pm, a male was attempting to cross Tonique Williams Darling Highway in the vicinity of a business establishment, when he was struck by a red Suzuki car, which was traveling in the east bound lane. The driver of the vehicle declined to remain at the scene. Paramedics were called to the scene, attempted to revive the victim but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 
Officers from the RBPF Traffic Department are investigating.

37 DRIVERS TICKETED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS IN
PAST 24 HOUR  

Officers from the Mobile Divisions conducted road checks in various parts of the island. Their efforts, which were intended to educate, reduce crime, and to minimize the ability of criminals to commit criminal activity, resulted in the arrest of eight (8) persons for outstanding criminal warrants, breech of bail conditions, and stealing, over the past 24 hours. 

Additionally, 37 drivers were ticketed for various traffic violations
