RBPF Nassau: Police investigates traffic fatality - Suspects in recent armed robberies to be charged - 106 drivers ticketed

POLICE INVESTIGATES TRAFFIC FATALITY

Nassau, Bahamas - Police in New Providence are investigating a traffic accident which has left one male dead on Thursday 7th December, 2017.

 According to reports, shortly before after 10:00pm, police were called to a traffic accident that had occurred on East Street and Sealink Avenue involving a white Honda Fit and a black Nissan Fuga. Both vehicles were extensively damaged. The passenger in the Honda Fit was pronounced dead on the scene. The drivers of both vehicles were taken to hospital where they are listed in serious condition. 

Officers from the RBPF Traffic Division are investigating. 

SUSPECTS IN RECENT ARMED ROBBERIES TO BE CHARGED

Two (2) men, ages 22 years and 24 years old are expected to be charged before the Magistrate Court later today in connection with a number of recent Armed Robberies which occurred on New Providence, including the incident where a security officer was robbed while in the parking lot of a church in Pinewood Gardens.    

106 DRIVERS TICKETED BY TRAFFIC OFFICERS IN OPERATION

Officers from the Traffic Division took to the streets of New Providence and conducted road checks which resulted in a number of drivers being ticketed on Thursday, 7th December, 2017. 

Their efforts, which were intended to educate road users and to enforce the Regulations of the Roads, has resulted in one hundred and six (106) being ticketed for various traffic violations including eighty-eight (88) drivers for excessive speeding. 

18 other persons were ticketed for various traffic offences.
