RBPF Nassau: Suspects to be arraigned - Illegal firearm seized, 1 male - 91 drivers ticketed

SUSPECTS TO BE ARRAIGNED 

Nassau, Bahamas - POLICE are pleased to announce that a juvenile will be arraigned in Magistrate Court at 12:00 noon today in connection with a murder investigation. 

A 17 year old male will be arraigned on a charge of murder, in connection with the death of Okell Sullivan, who was killed on Saturday, 3rd February, 2018.

ILLEGAL FIREARM SEIZED, 1 MALE

Thanks to information from members of the Public, police were able to recover another illegal firearm from the streets of New Providence, and take one adult male into custody. 

Shortly before 5:00pm, Sunday, 9th September, 2018, Mobile Division Officers acting on information went to a Deliverance Way, where they saw a man. Upon seeing the officers, the man pulled a firearm from trousers, threw it into nearby bushes and began to run. Officers caught the male and recovered .45 pistol with 2 rounds of ammunition.

The male is expected to be formally charged before the Magistrate Court later this week.

91 FIXED PENALTY NOTICES ISSUED TO DRIVERS BY MOBILE
OFFICERS IN PAST 48 HOUR   

Officers from the Mobile Divisions conducted road checks in various parts of the island. Their efforts, which were intended to educate, reduce crime, and to minimize the ability of criminals to commit criminal activity, resulted in the arrest of fifteen (15) persons for outstanding criminal warrants, breech of bail conditions, assault, illegal firearm and fraud, over the past 48 hours.  

Additionally, 91 drivers were ticketed for various traffic violations.
