RBPF: Pistol and ammo seized - Man arrested for marijuana possession

FIREARM SEIZED, ONE MAN IN CUSTODY

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2016, officers of the Selective Enforcement Team took another illegal firearm out of the hands of a criminal on Saturday 28th May 2016.

Reports are that around 8:30pm, officers from the Selective Enforcement Team were on routine patrol on Lyon Road off Shirley Street, when they saw two suspicious males walking in the area. The officers conducted a search of the males and uncovered a pistol with 10 rounds of ammunition. The two males were subsequently arrested and taken into custody.

MAN ARRESTED FOR DRUG POSSESSION

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2016, officers of the Mobile Division arrested an adult male for possession of dangerous drugs on Saturday 28th May 2016.

Reports are that shortly after 6:00pm, officers from Mobile Division were on routine patrol on Thompson Lane off East Street, where they saw a suspicious male standing in front of a home. The officers conducted a search of the male and uncovered 100 small foil wraps with marijuana in his possession. The male was then arrested and taken into custody.
