RBPF Seek help solving shooting incident - Uncover Firearm - 200 Drivers cited during separate operations

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN SOLVING A SHOOTING INCIDENT

POLICE are requesting the public’s assistance in solving a shooting incident that has left a man detained in hospital on Wednesday 23rd April 2014.

According to reports, shortly after 4:00pm the victim was at Davis Street, when a man armed with a shotgun fired several shots at him, hitting him once to the buttocks. The victim was transported to hospital where he is detained in stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing.

DEU OFFICERS RECOVER FIREARM

According to reports, shortly before 1:00am on Thursday 24th April 2014, Drug Enforcement Officers acting on intelligence went to Sri Lanka Crescent, Flamingo Gardens, where they uncovered a handgun along a quantity of ammunition in bushes.
No one was arrested in this incident.

200 DRIVERS CITED DURING SEPARATE POLICE OPERATIONS

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Police Priorities for 2014, officers from the Northeastern Division, Western Division and Police Traffic Department conducted separate policing operations on Wednesday 23rd April 2014 that targeted wanted persons and drivers who were in breach of the Rules of the Road.
The operations reaped the following results:

The Northeastern Division operation resulted in one (1) individual being arrested for Fraudulent Use of a License Plate and 94 drivers cited for various Traffic Infractions.
The Western Division operation resulted in 36 drivers being cited for various Traffic Infractions.

The Police Traffic Department operation resulted in five (5) individuals being arrested for Outstanding Court Warrants and 70 drivers cited for various Traffic Infractions.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have any information regarding these latest homicides and shooting, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands)
