RBPF Nassau: 3 arrested for firearm possession - 5 other arrests; 23 citations

POLICE SEIZE ANOTHER WEAPON OUT OF THE HANDS OF CRIMINALS

Nassau, Bahamas - Three males ages 42, 29 and 26 are in custody after they were arrested for firearm possession on Sunday 16th August 2015.

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, around 6:00pm, officers from the Mobile Unit were on patrol on McKinney Drive, when they stopped a Honda Accord car with the three suspects inside acting suspiciously. The officers conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered a .22 Pistol containing 7 live rounds of ammunition. The three suspects were taken into custody are expected to appear in court early this week to be formally charged.

5 ARRESTED AND 23 DRIVERS CITED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS DURING 24 HOURS PERIOD

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrests of five (5) persons during the past 24 hours for various minor and major offences. Additionally, 23 drivers were cited for various traffic violations.
