RBPF: Seven victims perish in helicopter crash - Grand Cay, Abaco

Police on the island of Abaco and Grand Bahama are investigating a helicopter crash that have left (7) American citizens dead.

Reports are that on Thursday 4th July 2019, shortly after 2:00pm, police received information that a helicopter with (7) American citizens on board, had left Big Grand Cay headed to Fort Lauderdale was missing.

Officers from Grand Cay Police station along with local residents of Grand Cay, shortly after 6:00pm on todays date, discovered the crash site just two miles off Grand Cay and the remains of all (7) persons on board, four females and three males. All person’s perished.

Police along with Civil Aviation Authority will continue investigation into this matter.

POLICE ARE APPEALING TO ANYONE WITH INFORMATION REGARDING ANY CRIME, NO MATTER HOW SMALL OR INSIGNIFICANT (THE TIP) MAY SEEM, TO ANONYMOUSLY CALL POLICE AT 919 OR CRIME STOPPERS AT 328-TIPS (8477) (NEW PROVIDENCE) OR 1-242-300-8477 (FAMILY ISLANDS) OR THE CENTRAL DETECTIVE UNIT AT 350-3106/12.

CRIME PREVENTION TIP – TAKE A STAND AGAINST ILLEGAL FIREARMS BY COOPERATING WITH THE POLICE IN PROVIDING INFORMATION REGARDING THE WHEREABOUTS OF ANY ILLEGAL FIREARM.
