POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN LOCATING SUSPECTS IN TWO ARMED ROBBERIES

Nassau, Bahamas - In the first incident shortly after 11:30am on Monday 8th February 2016, a woman was at a local bar on Soldier Road, when a lone gunman approached and robbed her of a large amount of cash and a cell phone before fleeing on foot.

Then later that night shortly after 11:00pm, a man was at Hamilton Subdivision off Carmichael Road, when he was approached by another man armed with a handgun who attempted to rob him. A struggle ensued and the victim was shot by the suspect who fled on foot.

Police are actively investigating both incidents.

POLICE SEIZE ANOTHER ILLEGAL WEAPON, ONE SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

Reports are that shortly after 9:00pm on Sunday 7th February 2016, Mobile Division officers were on routine patrol on Market and Deveaux Streets, when they conducted a search of a suspicious adult male and found a .40 pistol with 8 rounds of ammunition in his possession. The suspect was taken into custody and is expected to appear in court later this week to be formally charged.

7 ARRESTED AND 21 DRIVERS CITED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS OVER 24 – HOUR PERIOD

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities, Mobile Division officers on saturation patrol arrested 7 suspects for various offences over the past 24 – hours. Additionally, 21 drivers were cited for various traffic violations.
