RBPF Nassau: Dangerous drugs recovered, 2 males in custody - Suspects to be arraigned in court

DANGEROUS DRUGS RECOVERED, 2 MALES IN CUSTODY

The enduring and dedicated work of the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Police Force has led to a quantity of dangerous drugs being recovered from the streets of New Providence and the arrest of two adult males, in four separate incidents, Thursday, 6th July, 2018.

In the first incident, shortly after 9:00am Mobile Division Officers assisted by K-9 Officers, acting on information conducted a search of a home and property at John Road and recovered a quantity of suspected marijuana. An adult male who was present at the home at the time of the search, was taken into custody and is expected to be formally charged. 

In the second incident, shortly after 12:00noon, Mobile Division Officers assisted by K-9 Officers, acting on information conducted a search of a bushy area at Mahogany Avenue, Pinewood Gardens and recovered a quantity of suspected marijuana. No arrest was made in this matter.

In the third incident, shortly after 1:00pm, Mobile Division Officers assisted by K-9 Officers conducted a search of an abandon building at Tina Avenue off Joe Farrington Road and recovered a quantity of suspected marijuana. No arrest was made in this incident.

In the fourth incident, shortly after 5:00pm, Mobile Division Officers were on routine patrols on Deveaux Street, when they saw a male sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot of a church. Upon seeing the officers, the male begun acting in a suspicious manner. The officers conducted a search of the male and his vehicle and recovered a quantity of suspected cocaine. The male was taken into custody and is expected to be formally charged.

POLICE CONFISCATE LARGE AMOUNT OF US CURRENCY, 2 MALES IN CUSTODY


According to reports, shortly after 1:00pm, Thursday, 5th July, 2018 Drug Enforcement Officers along with US Law Enforcement Officers acting on intelligence, conducted a joint operation in western New Providence. Officers conducted a search of two men who were in a vehicle in a parking lot and recovered a large sum of US Currency. Officers also conducted a search of the men’s home and recovered additional US currency. The men were taken into custody.

Investigations are ongoing.
