San Salvador Police investigate drowning, New Providence Police conduct operation, arrest 16

San Salvador Police investigate drowning death
- Police are investigating the drowning death of an 87-year-old South Carolina man that occurred in San Salvador on Tuesday 25th February 2014.

Preliminary information indicates that around 11:30am the victim was snorkeling with a female friend in waters off San Salvador in the vicinity of Club Med Resort when he is alleged to have drowned. The victim was pronounced dead by the island’s local doctor.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances around the alleged drowning.

New Providence Western Division officers conduct operation - Consistent with the Commissioner’s 2014 Policing Priorities, a team of officers from the Western Division conducted an operation at the Junction of Frank Watson Boulevard and John F. Kennedy Drive, that targeted wanted persons and Traffic Violators on Tuesday 25th February 2014.

The operation reaped the following results:
Fourteen (14) persons arrested for Breach of the Immigration Act
Forty-two (42) Drivers were cited for various Traffic Violations
Western Division is under the leadership of Superintendent Allan Emmanuel.

16 arrested by Nassau Mobile Division Officers - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities reaped the following results during the past 24-hours:

A 25 – year old man of St. Vincent Road arrested for Causing Harm
A 34 – year old man of Fox Hill arrested for Threats of Death
A 45 – year old man of Palm Beach Street arrested for Stealing
A 38 – year old man of Joe Farrington Road arrested for Breach of the Immigration Act Twelve (12) Persons arrested for Outstanding Court Warrants
Mobile Division is under the leadership of Assistant Superintendent Perry Clarke.
