New Providence, Bahamas - Officers from the Police Traffic Department are investigating a traffic accident that has left a man dead and another detained in hospital on Saturday 11th February 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 5:00pm, a man was travelling east on JFK Drive near Westridge in a 1997 Geo Tracker Jeep along with a male passenger, when he collided into a signage post and lost control of his vehicle that flipped over crashing into another signage post. The passenger was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver was taken to hospital where his condition is listed as stable.

Investigations are ongoing.
