Two Nassau men shot on Providence Avenue, police seek public's help

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are asking members of the public to come forth with any information they may have regarding the whereabouts of two suspects responsible for a shooting incident that occurred on Sunday 1st March 2015.

According to reports, shortly before 12:00noon, a group of persons were standing in front of a residence located at Providence Avenue, when two men in a green coloured Nissan Almera vehicle pulled up and fired several shots into the crowd before speeding off. One man was shot in the leg and another man was shot in the shoulder. The two victims were rushed to hospital, where they remain in stable condition.

A short while later Mobile Division officers were on Patrol on Dean Street when they spotted the vehicle with the two suspects driving at a high rate of speed. The officers attempted to bring the vehicle to a stop but the suspects refused and sped off. After a short chase the suspects brought the vehicle to a stop and fled on foot. The officers gave chase but were unable to catch the fleeing suspects.

Investigations are ongoing.
