Two arrested, two illegal firearms recovered

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2016, Police took two men into custody following the seizure of two illegal firearms in separate incidents on Thursday 29th December 2016.

In the first incident, around 9:00am, officers from the Mobile Division acting on intelligence conducted a search of a Honda Accord vehicle occupied by an adult male at a carwash located on Carmichael Road, where they uncovered a 9-millimeter pistol with 8 live rounds of ammunition. The suspect was subsequently arrested in connection with this incident.

In the second incident, shortly after 9:00pm, officers from the Selective Enforcement Team acting on intelligence conducted a search of a an adult male at Higher Drive, Flamingo Gardens and uncovered a .45 pistol with 3 live rounds of ammunition. The suspect was subsequently arrested in connection with this
incident.
