Two men captured shortly after armed robbery, large quantity of drugs seized

 Nassau , Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2017, police took two men into custody shortly after an armed robbery and the seizure of a large amount of dangerous drugs on Tuesday 22nd August 2017.

According to reports, shortly before 7:00pm, police received a report that a man was held up and robbed of a large amount of cash near a business establishment near LPIA, by two men armed with a handgun, who fled in a Nissan cube vehicle.

Police immediately put out an All-Points-Bulletin (APB) for the vehicle and a short while later officers from the Selective Enforcement Team on routine patrol intercepted the vehicle on emerald coast road near Gladstone Road. The two males occupants of the vehicle were accosted without incident and taken into custody.

During a search of the vehicle police recovered the stolen cash and uncovered 40 pounds of marijuana.

Investigations are ongoing.

Two murder suspects among four suspects to be arraigned in court


Police is pleased to report that two murder suspects are among four suspects to appear in court on Wednesday 23rd August 2017, at 12:00noon to be formally charged.

They are:

An adult male for the murder of a man, that occurred near the Mall at Marathon on 29th July 2017.

 An adult male for the murder of a man, that occurred at Munson Village Road on 14th August 2017.

Two adult males for the abduction of a woman, that occurred at Taylor Street on 20th August 2017.
